At Core Outdoor Living, we are committed to giving back to the communities we serve.
That’s why we proudly partner with Food for Others. We believe everyone is strengthened when we all pull together.
For every new deck, porch, or patio project, we donate $100 to Food for Others.
During the school year $100 funds 25 Power Packs, providing children with nutritious meals to take home over the weekend when school meals aren’t available.

Food for Others distributes more than 3.6 million pounds of food each year and serves more than 3,000 families throughout Fairfax County. Their impact is made possible by a dedicated team of employees and an incredible volunteer network that completes roughly 42% of the organization’s work.
Each year, our team also spends a day volunteering at the Food for Others warehouse. Whether we’re packing food, sorting donations, or assembling Power Packs for local students, it’s one of our favorite days of the year. It’s a meaningful reminder that building stronger communities goes far beyond decks, porches or patios.

It’s hard to imagine that families experience food insecurity in a community like Fairfax County, but the need is real. We’re honored to play a small part in helping our neighbors. We are incredibly grateful to our clients who make these donations possible. Thanks to their support, we’ve been able to increase our contributions year after year.
When you choose Core Outdoor Living, you’re not just investing in your home, you’re helping make a difference in the lives of local families.
How You Can Get Involved
One of the things we love most about Food for Others is that there are so many ways to make a difference. Whether you have an hour to spare or want to make a lasting impact they have an opportunity for you.
- Run the annual Tysons 5K: It’s a fun, family-friendly event that raises funds to help fight hunger in our community.
- Volunteer at the warehouse: Help sort donations, stock shelves, assemble Power Packs, or distribute food directly to local families. Individual volunteer shifts are available throughout the week.
- Make a financial donation: Every gift helps provide food and resources to neighbors experiencing food insecurity.
- Host a food drive: Rally your neighborhood, workplace, church, or school to collect the items Food for Others needs most.
- Spread the word: Sharing their mission with friends and family helps connect more people to opportunities to give and serve.
No matter how you choose to help, every act of generosity makes a difference. Together, we can build a stronger Northern Virginia!
